step by step process
Step 1
Deploying the Noise Nuisance Recorder
Once you acquire the Noise Nuisance Recorder, you’ll receive clear instructions on how to install and use the specialised equipment. The kit includes a sound level meter, a recording device, and a noise nuisance recorder—each designed to capture neighbour noise nuisances accurately.
You will place the kit at the residence of the complaining tenant for a predetermined period, typically around two weeks. During this time, the equipment will record any nuisances professionally, capturing noise levels, frequency, and other important data.
Step 2
Data Collection and Submission
At the end of the monitoring period, you will retrieve the kit and send the recorded data to Neighbour Noise Control. Upon receiving the files, we perform an initial review to ensure all necessary recordings and information have been provided correctly and in full.
Step 3
Detailed Acoustic Analysis
After the preliminary check, the data is forwarded to our expert team at the acoustic laboratory. Here, our specialists analyse the recordings, taking into account factors such as the duration, frequency, background noise, and the specific times the nuisances occurred.
The analysis is carried out in the backdrop of local regulations in the relevant country or region. It is determined whether the noise disturbances can actually be legally classified as noise nuisance.
Step 4
Independent Review and Second Opinion
To ensure objectivity and accuracy, the analysed files are sent to a second, independent team that randomly assesses a sample of the data. This additional step guarantees the highest possible reliability of the assessment.
Step 5
Report and Recommendations
Once the analysis is complete, our acoustic advisor compiles a comprehensive report. This official document contains an objective assessment of the noise complaint, along with recommendations on how to proceed based on the findings.
After a final quality check, the report is passed to our administrative team, who will then send it directly to you, the housing association.
Step 6
Resolution
With the official report in hand, you have the necessary evidence to address the noise complaint effectively. Whether it involves confronting the noise offender or taking further legal or procedural steps, the report provides a clear, objective basis for action.
All of these steps – from receiving the files to delivering the report – are completed within a week, guaranteeing a fast, professional and reliable (and surprisingly affordable) solution to any noise problem your neighbours may have.
